A classic

This beautiful animation gets me every time! Based on Hemingway’s novel the story centers upon Santiago – an aging fisherman and his last battle with nature.
The exquisite work of Alexander Petrov won him an Oscar for Animated Short Film some time ago.

It took the Russian two and a half years to finish the film.
The unique technique features pastel oil paint on glass as each frame is hand-painted.
